Search job
The SearchJob family — 2 operations.
A background search is a saved search plan the platform runs for you — as you, with your own permissions — for up to five minutes, across related records: it starts from one kind of record, follows up to three relationships, and keeps the matches it found for seven days. Start one from Explore’s dig lane when a question spans several kinds of records or would read more records than a quick search should; the record shows the plan in words, how far the search got (steps run, records examined, matches so far) and why it stopped. It is queued, then running, and ends done, cancelled (by you, or when your session ends), expired (the five minutes ran out — the matches found so far are kept) or failed. One background search runs per signed-in session; you can cancel your own while it is live. Nothing here edits anything.
