Saga
The Saga family — 2 operations.
A saga is the record of one multi-step process the platform runs for you — a checkout, a stock transfer, a purchase-order receipt, the sourcing of a special order, or the clearance of a fiscal receipt — where every step must either complete or be undone. It names the kind of process, the record it holds locked while it runs (the order under checkout, say), every record its steps touch, the platform’s own run reference when one exists, and, when a run had to be unwound, a log of what was undone and why. It moves from pending through running to completed; if a step fails it compensates — undoing the steps already taken — and ends compensated, or failed when even that could not finish, in which case the platform starts a new linked run rather than reviving the old one. Sagas are created and driven by the system alone; the back office reads them here to see what happened.
