input type

Create-input for a Characteristic. The tenant (org group) is derived SERVER-SIDE from the principal — NEVER supplied here. STRICT invariants: pattern-type requires a compiling grammar.pattern; number/date take NO grammar; unit only on number, naming a canned UoM.
