# Transfer

The `Transfer` family — 3 operations.

A transfer moves stock between two locations of your group in one shipment — lines of source items and quantities, fixed at birth. Submitting reserves the source stock (a same-place move completes right there); shipping carries it at its book value; receiving lands quantities as they arrive, on hand or held for review; closing finishes the move, or resolving disposes any missing or extra quantity by name. Cancelling is the pre-ship exit.
