# Transfer lane

The `TransferLane` family — 7 operations.

A transfer lane is your standing word on moving stock from one location to another, in that one direction — never (a prohibition), always (a preferred source), or ranked (an explicit order, with its rank) — with an optional typical lead time, weight class and cost hint. Create it here for the pairs you want to steer; pairs you leave unset rank by distance on their own. The two locations are fixed at birth, and an inactive lane counts as unset, so a prohibition must stay active.
