# Consultation

The `Consultation` family — 5 operations.

A consultation is a conversation with the assistant, kept as a record: the transcript is the record and a rolling summary on it is its memory. A plan the assistant drafts in a reply can be taken into a scratchpad, where it proceeds under your own permissions — the conversation itself changes nothing. When a transcript outgrows its bound, a follow-on consultation links to it.
